On the topic of being bitten actually mine almost got me today, but that was my fault... I was giving him a cricket and I placed my hand out thinking that cricket would hop off and no, he didnt so my Ornate launched for my finger tips lol, I moved out of the way in time, but I still found it amusing. So yeah they definately bite, but only because they mistaken you for edibles.
