I've had crickets start laying within seconds of being dropped in my frog tank, but yes, removing the adults before they have been in there very long will reduce this and keep them from biting your frog. The little pinhead crickets won't be able to do much. Expect more in the coming day, removing the substrate to a separate cricket habitat will make dealing with them much easier.
