Hi guys! I was just playing with my pacman a few hours ago and I noticed that he has pinkish red on the underside of his body on his thighs and pelvic area. Is that normal or is it some kind of sickness?
You would need to post clear pictures for someone to verify. If they rub on the bottom of the tank they can become a bit pink once in a while, but if it's red, spotty, or looks like the blood veins, it's a good possibility it is red leg. If he has red leg it's critical you get him veterinary care immediately. You should put him in a hospital setup until you can get him to the vet.
Thanks so much! I'll take another look at him tonight. If I recall it just looks a little pink, didn't look bad but I'll double check and get him help if he needs it

Redleg and other bacterial infections are most commonly caused by unclean conditions. If you're keeping the frog correctly, my guess is you're just seeing natural redness. Can you post pictures though?

Thanks so much DVirginiana! I just cleaned his tank the day I posted this and now two days later it's changed from red to a light, light purple so I guess it's healing up. I just looked at a picture of red leg in Pacman frogs and I've confirmed he does not have it. He's getting bigger and I know he's healthy. I am so relieved. I'm going to keep a slightly tighter regime on tank cleaning no in order to prevent it.
I have seen at work and with mine if they have a bad shed and they try and scratch it off on rough surfaces or flex too hard they can break or irritate the first layer of skin. Soaking them in clean spring or purified water helps heal the irritation or breaks on the skin as their skin is extremely sensitive and very easy to injure. Keep an eye on it if it comes back call a vet or snap photos and compare the symptoms. More often then not its better to ask before rushing to a vet.
