I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or solutions to a problem I have had
for some time. The fake plants in my tank for my white tree frogs have a small section of exposed metal wire on the top of the plant where the manufacturer had trimmed the top of the plant. I want to know if there's anything I can put on too of the metal to keep it from cutting my frogs. I have not had an issue yet but I had tape ontop of them, I know not the greatest idea I had. I recently read a thread about how bad it was and have since then pulled all the tape off the top of the plastic plants where the metal was exposed. And I should add that j cleaned the tape residue off aswell.

Maybe you could put animal safe silicone over the metal spots (but let the silicone dry before putting it back in the tank), and if you decide one day to get live plants for your Whites Tree Frog, a Snake Plant will support their weight! Hope everything goes well for your frog! Have a great day!
Thanks very much. What classifies as frog safe?

Its called Vivarium Safe Silicone and i'll give you a link where to get it Vivarium Safe Silicone (10.2 oz) Clear - Background Supplies | Josh's Frogs When you said residue, was it from the tape because you can get this reptile tank cleaner spray at Petco that will most likely work like a charm heres a link for that too Cold Life Stain & Odor Eliminator Spray at PETCO Happy to help!
You can use any 100% silicone to cover it. ge 2 is the "gold standard", but others are just as good. You can get ge silicone in a small tube for about $5 at Home Depot or lowe's.

Yeppers. It's the only thing I use. That size is awesome for touch ups. I don't use a lot of silicone in my tanks, but I always keep several of those size tubes around.
