Condsidering White's tree-frog! Set-up pics?

Alright, I am considering a White's tree-frog, and I know their care, but can I see some tank set-ups so I can have my creative juices flowing? I also have huge pecan tree sticks in my yard. If I boiled/cleaned them would they be safe? Thanks in advance!

Try a google search! That's what I've been doing to get ideas for my tank. I've got a 15 gallon terrarium (good starter for small fellows, upgrade when they get bigger). I'm not yet a White's owner - just an aspiring one.

As for the pecan tree sticks... I can't say. I'm not finding anything online that says it's either good or bad. So I guess it would be an experiment... which personally is a risk I wouldn't take. But I'm sure someone here might be able to chime in on this.

A cool setup (to me at least) would be like the the regular vivarium ground setup (hydro balls, sheet, soil, leaves, etc.) and the best plant you could use in it would be a big snake plant in the middle of the tank because snake plants are one of the only plants that can support the frogs weight LOL. But if you do use soil instead of paper towels like most people say to do, you will have to tong feed the frogs because they can get impactions from the soil. I don't know, but i think if you put leaves at the top layer of the vivarium it would be harder for them to get an impaction. The 2 main things to do if you want soil in your tank is to tong feed and keep an eye on them! I'm more of a natural looking tank guy but you do what ever fits you! IMHO, asking for pics of other's enclosures is the WORST place to get inspiration for a tank. Sure, you get to see a lot of nice tanks, but in the end, all you end up with are bits and pieces of other people's tanks that you copy. I know, the old saying goes that imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, but do you really want a tank designed by others? You want inspiration? I challenge you to google their natural environment. Do the research. Find an image that strikes you, and try to copy it. Make it original, not bits and pieces of other's tanks. Google gives you access to the best designer on earth, nature. Nobody does it better.

When I design tanks, I want to convey a feeling, an emotion. I want the viewer to see it so that they can actually imagine being in that environment. That's why my tanks never look like anyone else's. I like to think that if you dropped a tank in a spot in the forest, that is what you will see.

I do both of what Bill said. I look at pics of their natural environment to get an idea of their needs, but then I also google vivariums to get ideas on how to put things to work. Like, looking to build a new red eye enclosure, I found pics of bromeliads and other epiphytes in the crook of a tree, it was beautiful, exactly what I wanted to recreate. But, then I googled tanks also to get an idea of how to make that work in a vivarium, mostly the technicalities of it. So I'm kind of a mix of a shepherd and a sheep

Don't get me wrong amy, googling to learn technique is excellent. It's how I learned, but I just don't believe in getting inspiration from other's tanks. I look at other people's tanks as motivation, not inspiration. I see a gorgeous tank and think to myself, I can do better. It drives me to build better tanks, IMHO. I always say, every tank you build should be better than the last.

And also, what about the pecan sticks? Are they safe to use if I boil them?

Pecan is a hardwood, so you should be able to use it. I would boil then bake.

Pecan is a hardwood, which would make it a safe wood. But I don't know enough about the tree to say 100%. Some hardwoods exude toxic sap and oils. All I can say is that it won't rot quickly.

Pecan wood is listed as safe for animals, so I'm guessing that would apply to frogs also.
