There is absolutely no advantage here. In fact, it is high recommended against. Unless you live in the same area the frog came from, there are all sorts of nasties outside that your frog will not have immunity from. Have others done it? Sure. Have they had problems? No clue. But I will say this, you rarely hear of anybody doing this long term.
