I know the pictures aren't of good quality, the lighting in the room was horrible, but I'll post some better ones tommorow. For now- I would like the see what all you can help me with.
This tad was collected in northern virginia about a week ago and I have absolutly no talent in telling tadpoles apart. PLEASE help me if you can- just narrowing it down a few would be a great help.
He was in a small stream within a quater mile of intersecting (dumping off) to the shenandoah river. He was by a large mass of several different types of eggs, green blobs, and clearish blobs, I don't remember what else. He was alone, no other tadpoles to be in sight, just kinda hanging out there at the bottom in the little cut off protected from flow part of the stream.
He's acting just like any other tadpole would, I haven't witnessed him eat but he's looking healthy so far and I've read from a few people that they can survive without eating... I dunno how to describe the conversation going on in the comments but the point is they weren't starving the tadpoles, they just didn't want to eat, and no I'm not talking about the day or two after they hatch while they're still getting nutrition from there yolks.
might help to mention he's somewhere around 1.7 inches long, ha duh, almost forgot to mention that. But enough of my blabbing- if anyone has knowledge that I lack that would be of use to me, please lemme know, I would really like to find out what the little booger is.
