Default Whites Frogs Spending A lot of Time in Water

Hi, I'm after a bit of advice which I haven't been able to find out elsewhere...

I posted before that one of my 2 Whites has been hiding mostly in the waterfall I have in there. Well now both of them have started hiding there... It's been about a month or 2 for the first one and my other one has started doing it too.

I have been trying to keep an eye as best as I can on them. The tank is in a clean state, fresh water etc. but they still insist on hiding in the waterfall. If I put my hand in to feed or anything else they hide back in the waterfall. They do come out at night and have a roam around, but that seems to be it. They tend to be brown when they are in the waterfall...

Is there anything else I can do? Does it sound serious?

    Thanks

When you first posted did you answer any of the questions in this thread? http://www.frogforum.net/tree-frogs/...enclosure.html I don't remember if I saw your post before, or replied to it (??) but answering these questions is usually always the first step to finding help. Thanks!

You mentioned in your other post that this behavior started after several plants died in the tank. If you haven't replaced the plants they could just be hiding where they feel secure. Adding more plants (live or fake) will provide some cover and they might feel more comfortable coming out into the open. From a frog's perspective a wide-open area with no cover can put them at risk of being ambushed by a predator, so providing more cover actually results in seeing your frogs more.

I have since bought more plants, both live and fake. But they both now seem to be spending a lot of time in the waterfall..

1----what 'kind' of frog is it ( what species) 2 * Whites Tree Frogs

For some reason I'm unable to upload pictures right now...

3----Please include a photo of the frog's current enclosure

    As above.

    4----size of enclosure ( W" x D" x H" )

    50 cm * 50cm * 60cm
5----# on inhabitants - ( if there is another frog --- is there a size difference ? )

2, they seem to be of the same size roughly now.

6----has or was the frog kept with a different species or with any other tank mate

Both frogs have been kept together since babies.

11---describe the enclosure lighting ( very specifically)

The tank has been moved near to the window. There is one UV light and a spot light too. Which direction does the window face? If it's south or west you could be getting temperature spikes that are too uncomfortable or unsafe for the frogs. Same with humidity drops (though your levels are sounding spot on right now). Your temps don't sound too bad really, though the lower reading might be a tad too cool.

    15---enclosure set up:
-----if recent - describe how the enclosure was cleaned

Used hot water to clean the walls of the tank, took out the fake plants and waterfall and dishes and rocks get soaked in hot water in the sink. Did you use a dechlorinator product when rinsing?
