try going to caudata and read what it says. does anybody know what happened? I keep needing to visit the site more now lol
It is still unclear why it's "operation is suspended", but according to John it isn't about money. He has told a few people what the reason is, but is leaving it to them to share it with the public if they want. And I don't think they have. -Seth

I don't have any other 'phibs at the moment but I hope the site gets back up... I feel sorry for the Caudata members if it doesn't, I know I'd be lost without FrogForum

I am saddened by the fact that caudata.org is down. I am sure that John has very good reasons and will share with us at an appropriate time. Caudata Culture and the Axolotl sites are still accessible.

Here are his FB posts from a post on the Caudata.org group for those of you who didn't see them, I don't think it'll be back anytime soon, which is a real shame.
"It's not about money. I've told a few people why and I will leave it to them to share publicly if they want. I am aware that people rely on this site and I'm evaluating future options for the data. I won't be giving the site away, selling it, or letting other people take it over. What I found amazing is how many people have contacted me since last night saying how much they value the site. Frankly, you guys needed this to happen to tell me that? And what makes it even greater is how many people have contacted me demanding (yes) I put the site back up. Like, how dare I do what I did."
"I know everyone uses Facebook and Twitter now to keep in contact. But ask yourself how many people you have met through Caudata.org and then ask yourself if you would have your hobby without it. Then ask yourself if you've ever bad-mouthed myself or the site."
Wow that doesn't sound good! I haven't even been a Caudata user, not having any "Long 'Phibs" (currently), but I should would use the heck out of it if I did (look at how often I post and reply to folks here??) and it saddens me to think that such a great resource (if it is anything like here) should be gone, thanks apparently to some hiney-wipes who have caused problems or drama... I don't know the situation, but from what I just read I can imagine. I hope John can someday bring Caudata back for those who deserve it and to heck with those who don't. Take heart John, you have people who care standing with you! And if you decide you don't want to bring it back... well sometimes people have to do what's best for them (you have to take care of you before you can take care of others) so those who care will understand
