I am going to move from the east coast to the west coast in 2 months and want to bring my frog with me on airport. Does anybody know if it's allowed and what I should pay attention to keep my frog heathy and happy during the travel? Thanks a lot.
I would think that you need to contact the specific airlines to find out their rules regarding this.
2.0.3 Hyla versicolor "Eastern Gray Tree Frogs"
2.2.0 Agalychnis callidryas "Red Eyed Tree Frogs"
0.0.3 Dendrobates auratus "Turquoise and Bronze"
0.0.1 Anaxyrus fowleri "Fowler's Toad"
I'll second that. I never did that, but I was looking into getting a snake and go home with it. Was told I can only use air cargo. May be for frogs it's different.
Contact air company for advise.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
If you find out please post back with the answer and airline that will provide the answer.
Yup airline guidelines, state laws (in your case), sometimes when the government is in panic or paranoid mode they may ask for a quarantine clearance (but not always the case)..
anyways good luck!![]()
Yes. I called Delta. You only can bring cat, dog and bird on board not amphibian or reptile. I have to use air cargo. Do you have any idea what container I can buy for my frog? It has not to be plastic.
Maybe you can get a response from a breeder or distributor about how they pack and ship frogs, or someone who has bought one could tell you how their's was packed, and you could overnight UPS or FedEx to yourself, probably cheaper, easier, and more reliable. Just based on another users recent experience though, I would say you do plenty of research on the weather forcasts across the country a few days before to help avoid any shipping delays.
talk to lllreptile.com breeders or backwater.com breeders they do 2 day shipping and send bugs frogs and reptiles. lllreptile.com responds in as little as 15hrs
