I created an account here too, also used to post on caudata but lurked here. Sad to see the other forum shut down but with social media being all the rage these days, I just don't think the webs can support more than a couple of forums for each segment of the hobby so better one or two really active forums than checking 20 forums with 1-2 posts each.

What happened to the other forum? Was it just not active enough?

In any event, welcome to all refugees. I'll be looking forward to seeing your posts.

I also like salamanders and newts. Sorry to see that caudata.org is down, it was a great resource for everything salamander. I currently keep a couple of tiger salamanders and hopefully get some Pleurodeles waltl soon.
    Thanks
Tiger salamanders are very cool, I would like to get some A. t. mavortium sometime, they are the only legal tiger species here in Washington. P. waltl are very cool as well, but be warned, if you don't want to breed them, make sure you don't get a pair! They breed with no effort sometimes, like Axolotls.

Operation has been suspended, so it is unclear if it will come back up. It was as active as this forum, I would say - about three dozen posts in a 24 hour period. The reason for suspension is unknown, except that it isn't about money, according to John.
