Phoenix worms

I fed my pac some phoenix worms and about 12 to 16 hours later they were crawling around covered in pooh. I could not believe they could stay alive in a digestive tract that long! Has anyone had any probs with phoenix worms before? I did not see how these worms exited the frog, does anyone have any insight on which end they left the frog? I was shocked to say the least when I saw that they were living!

uh i know what a phoenix worm looks like...

there is no way it was a parasite. they were the same exact worms that I fed to my frog.

then your frog didnt eat them or he/she has weak stomach acids. Because in a normal stomach, that worm be dissolved.

Some times insect larvae can survive the digestive tract of a frog, particularly when the larva is large relative to the frog. To get around this, many people puncture the skin of the larva before feeding with Waxworms and Phoenix Worms.

My best guess is A) they didn't eat them in the first place or B) they threw them up. Phoenix worms may be high in calcium, but are not too popular with most frogs for some reason.

I love roasted pig. just kill the dang thing and pop him in a stick and roast it. Yum yum. xD Idc if people think thats cruel. But a persons got to eat. I love animals. But I recognize Iam a meat eater. Argh Iam ranting now. :U
