    Default Need help identifying problem

Yesterday when I woke up and took a look at my White's Tree Frog, I found a very long string of what seems to be mucus in his water dish, and there was another string still attached to his rear. I collected both and placed them in a bottle, and I'm worried he might have some kind of worms again. He had worms a few years ago, but I would find them in his poops (or close to since they would break out of it and move before dying). This time there was no poop, it was just a stringy substance, although there might have been very small traces of fecal matter, I'm not entirely sure since it might have just been substrate.

I don't really have an exotic vet around, he used to be close by but has moved. Can worms just.. leave like that or do they absolutely need to be in a solid poop? He acts like he always does, which is unlike the last time he had worms. He climbs all over the place and has a healthy appetite. As I mentioned, I saved what I found in a bottle, would a normal vet be able to identify if it's worms or not?

Could you post a picture? It's hard to say, but it could be something as simple as some uneaten shed skin, or like you said, worms. A vet would definitely be able to identify it for you.

They're in the area I circled. It's nothing like the worms he had years ago but I know there's different kinds.

Yeah, might be worth getting that checked out by a vet.

I got another picture, I noticed it sort of had structure when I held it up to the light. There's these little rectangular shapes, which probably isn't a good sign..

I was going to say maybe it's shed skin but then I read rectangular shapes... like segments? Crud... I think you've got a tapeworm Put it in a bottle of rubbing alcohol to preserve it. You definitely need a frog vet (any vet really I'd think) for something like this, imo.
