I'm guessing the answer is a resounding 'no' but i'm curious if the herbal "cure-all" Reptaid can be used on amphibians. None of my toads need it but I saw it in the fridge and it got me thinking. It was useful when my leopard gecko was feeling a bit down and wondered if it might have the same effect? [All the ingredients are herbal and it largely eliminates parasites, has been shown to be very effective in this regard]
Huh- an interesting thing, I snooped around and the website itself says its safe for frogs, but that you administer it by adding two drops to their water so they absorb it through their skin.
How to Administer to Frogs
Does this make anyone else incredibly nervous?
I wouldn't use it personally. There is an ingredients list on Amazon, and it contains cloves. Oil of cloves is used as a euthanasia agent in amphibians.
I would go with standard medications that are used with amphibians, and forget the herbal stuff. There are too many things in it that you don't know how they might affect a frog.

"Cleansed in the finest quality spring water, lightly killed, and then sealed in a succulent Swiss quintuple smooth treble cream milk chocolate envelope, and lovingly frosted with glucose."
What stuff are we talking about?
repti-aid by fluckers is used very widely for amphibians, it doesn't contain clove oil or anything of that nature.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!
Its called 'reptaid' as one word [pretty confusing and I wonder if its intentionally so] its a herbal 'medicine' that is said to treat a variety of illnesses in reptiles. It seemed to perk up my leopard gecko a lot when he lost his appetite a year ago but I don't know if its worth more than a slight pick-me-up, or what sort of effect it would have on amphibians.
What are contents of that "panacea"? If clove oil ( any oils really) is in there then it is absolute no go for amphibians.
You know as they say what works for everything usually don't really work for anything![]()
