man this one is tough to say...i know they usually do that when they get scared but if it was just doing that im not sure....i dont think they can sleep underwater since they breath air....but good luck with ur frog...hope things get better

Mine used to do that until i got a 40w bulb for during the day directly over the water bowl, and a heatpad underneath for night both set on auto timers. He loves to sit in the water while under the light during the day, it keeps him hydrated, and warm at the same time! Then at night he burrows close to the heat pad and is a happy fellow

feed him some pinky rats! rats have bones and bones are a fantastic calcium resourse! he may perk up a bit. (:
