Hey people!!

Hi everybody!
Name is Mike,and everybody calls me Evil or Papa, hence Evil Papa smurf. I'm an Old hand with tropical fish, live planted tanks, Snakes and making 3d background for said tanks. I have had Fire belly toads and newts in the past when my kids were growing up. Proud to say i was able to keep the toads for approx 3 years, before the died in a winter power outage while we were out of town.

Anyway, A search for new tank landscape ideas, found myself looking at some totally awesome looking Vivariums. I was Drawn to the construction methods. Very different, and at the same time very similar the the methods for building tanks for fish! Mix of substrates,water, plants etc. So i did more research, looking at pics. And some of the best pics kept showing up in this forum. I viewed as a visitor for a few months, learning and building.

I have built my first viv in an old 50 gal breeder I had sitting in the basement with no real plans. with the methods learned from this site, and what i know from my aquarium builds. I think it has turned out wonderfully!

Shortly after filling with water, i needed advice. Water was changing color( thinking it was tannins from the coco fibers ) wanting to make sure it was safe before place fire belly toads in there. People helped confirming it was safe, non toxic.

I know this is just the intro of myself, but I would like to Thank Everybody n here for their post, pics, tutorials, and advice that they give. this is what makes a forum Great!!!
