Hello all,
I'll be setting up a 40 gallon with 2 or 3 tomato frogs, and was planning to make a false bottom. The substrate will probably be under 5" and i'll be using a humidifier to fog the place. Would i be wasting time and space by making a false bottom?
Welcome to the forum! Its always a good idea to have one for vivariums. False bottoms create a place for excess
water to gather if you were to overwater your tank. It will also prevent the soil from becoming waterlogged.

Thanks Ryman. I'll do it then. I have some extra wire storage cubes that i'll zip tie and place on pvc.

how about the barrier so that bedding wont fall between?
You will need to use a mesh on top of the false bottom (between it and substrate)
yeah i know about the mesh. I just realized that the bedding wont fall between because of the mesh and the tight fitting false bottom.
Thanks for the replies. I cant wait to get set up.
