    Exclamation Sleepwalking disaster!

Hello FF, this is probably my most traumatic experience owning and keeping frogs. This morning after turning the light on, i found my dart frog tank with the lid off I was terrified, i assumed the worst. I spent 10- 20 minutes searching underneath the tables and behind my bed. After many panic attacks, i thought i would check in the viv again, and saw one of my darts sleeping away However i didnt find the other one. Im too stressed right now to keep looking around because i have to leave for school soon

Ughhh no good, I hope he's just hiding out! I have a daughter who sleep walks, it's part of why I do not involve her in the frog care. I don't want it to feel natural to her to open a viv in her sleep I'm sorry, good luck in your search.

My Son left his Azureus tank open from 7AM till I discovered it at 2pm. I thought for sure he had just released all his frogs into the house and now it was just a matter of finding them before the dog did. I spent 20 mins searching everywhere and then decided to look in the tank really good. I found all 4 of them still safely in the tank wondering who was going to close the door and stop letting all the humidity out.

Hope this is the case for you and you find your other frog safe and sound in the tank.

Might want to consider getting a small combo lock for the tank to make it harder to open in your sleep.

Found the other frog! I thought he may have jumped out because i havent seen him in the tank. But realizing their shy nature, i thought i would give it time, the two were side by side underneath the driftwood, probably just as traumatic for them as it was for me!

    Good for you!

I'm just glad I grew out my sleepwalking phase. Would've been tragic if I let my vipers out lol

    Ryan,
Glad to read about a happy ending.
These close calls are heart sinking !

Once I found one of my R imitators 'Varaderos' in the cuff to my lab jacket 20 feet away from the enclosure; about to be thrown into the laundry!
I nearly died and so did she. I'm sure those of us who keep darts would be extremely upset if one of these precious little lives were accidently lost.

    Little 'door riders'

    Your are very lucky!
