Shipping Tads?

Has anyone ever shipped, or received shipped, tadpoles successfully? I've heard of it being done, while others say they won't survive the process. Our local Petco actually got some species of Rana tad delivered to them from CA labeled as a baby Beta! It is now a healthy adult living with one of the employees. There are tads (mixed WC in FL) for sale as "feeders" on eBay too, and they have positive feedback so obviously they got where they were going safely. Also a gal on the White's Tree Frog Lovers FB group purchased one of her WTFs AS a tadpole from her Walmart, of all things. It got me curious as to the possible feasibility and likely success rate of shipping WFT tads in the future.

tads are relatively tough little creatures. they can be shipped as you would ship live fish or shrimp. in a kordon breather bag. but as with any shipping of live animals, regardless of what they are, you must factor in "the human factor". boxes getting tossed around, flipped upside down and what not.

i used to breed and sell shrimp years ago and used kordon bags. they are excellent, but the human factor probably cost me more money than anything on refunds and replacements due to boxes getting mangled during shipment.

Well, in would imagine that since they "specialize" in shipping animals, you may have greater success. There will always be the human factor though.
