So this may be a bit of a odd question, but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask. My pacman frog has always pooped usually around once a week, or around 8 or 9 days. Has always been pretty regular. And he never has wanted to go in the tank, I've always had to take him out and soak him in a treated warm bath. But today its been 12 days, and I have been getting him out and soaking him in his bath every other day since the 9th. And today he finally did poop, but it was really small. I was wondering if this was something normal? His poop being so small? Idk if maybe he just didn't need to go that bad or what. I gave him his first pinkie a little over a week ago, and i've just been worrying about him digesting it. Thanks for the help whoever can answer my odd question lol.
Assuming that you have his parameters correct, the next thing to check is if he is impacted. Push in gently on his right side, if you feel something in there it's poop, if it feels like a hard lump, it's impacted. If so put him in some 80 or so degree water, chin deep with a drop of honey per cup and let him have a 20 minute soak, then a 20 minute soak in normal treated water. This will likely get him to poop. If not, repeat daily for maybe 4 days, if still no poop, time to see the vet.
If there is nothing in his right side, he may have converted the majority of it to new frog, and should be fed more night crawlers or dubias or crickets, but hold off on the mice.
I felt both sides, he isnt impacted at all. And like I said, i was just wondering if it is normal for him to have a smaller poop than usual? Because it was really small.
Yeah, it's nothing to worry about, just keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't get impacted. Sometimes mice stop them up a little. As long as you don't feed more than one mouse a month, you probably won't have too many problems with it.

I was talking to her the other day about the pinky and I suggested to let him have a big poop before and she said that night he did. Then she gave it to him. Just thought I would throw that out there. Also suggested that may not take a another good poop for a week or 2 because it was a nice meal and it would take abit longer to digest.
OK thanks, ya im only giving him one pinkie a month.
It would make sense it would take the frog a bit longer to digest a mice than insects!
It's all good![]()
