I have 2 gabf nd I need you guy to help me tell the sex of them please I will put some pic in the message please let me know thanks![]()
I guess no on can help me out ? Please I really need to know any one know or any guesses
Usually its pretty tricky to sex GABFs in the middle of their growth. Males will reach anywhere from 7-9 inches and females will grow to half that size (4-6 inches). There are probably a few key point differences, males will have nuptual pads (Black spots underneath the male's thumbs) IMO i would say it would be a female because of the size of the head.

I agree it is very tricky to tell what sex a juvenile is. When the frog becomes an adult, the stripe down the back will disappear or fade out. However, I maybe wrong but IMHO, you have one giant and one dwarf. If you look at the bottom 3 photos, there is no doubt that is a giant. The top 3 photos are questionable. The reason I say that is that the frog in the top 3 photos have two characteristics that are found in the dwarf but not the giant: 1) the interorbital bar (the bar going across the head connecting the two eyes) and 2) the bright spot in the tympanum. It could also be a hybrid or a third recently described species in the genus Pyxicephalus.

Here some other pics let me know what u guys think![]()
Hiya, I would say the adspersus is a male, given his relatively thickened forearms. This is a reliable means of sexing (short of dissecting him to take a look inside). The edulis is too young still to sex.
Any more thoughts ?

Why so much urgency to figure out the sex of your frogs? It takes time and isn't always clear until adulthood. Just enjoy your pets, and you will be able to tell at about 1 year old.
The best way to tell during the growth process is by head shape and size. Post pictures from directly overhead next to a ruler, and a clear profile and front photo, and you'll get better answers.
Ok thanks nd it's just to know what u people think nd wat u guys think of the gabfs I got
right now it would just be a guess more than actually knowing since ur frogs are pretty young still...but im leaning towards female for both of the frogs...the bigger one looks very female and the smaller one is pretty much a 51% over 49% its a female lol has more female looking traits to me
I am pretty sure that the one eating a mice is a male, based of the shape and size of his head but I'm not an expert.
