I'd say he could catch the crickets - it's probably more a matter of him being unaccustomed to them and how they move.

Hmm oh, well my friends never took to crickets. They only took to worms, roaches, and stuff of the sort. Even slugs sometimes.

Sorry, couldn't resist that...but I can maybe add something useful here. If the crickets are too fast, you could try being a little mean to the crickets and popping them in the freezer for 30-60seconds, enough to slow them down to a crawl but not enough to kill them. Then drop them in front of the frog. As they warm up and slowly start to move, they are easy prey. I don't have a pacman, but I've used this method on gray treefrogs when I was concerned a specific one wasn't getting it's fill due to being a less skillful hunter than it's tank mates.

If you're finding the humidity is too low, you might consider a false bottom for your tank. I don't know if these are often used with pacman frogs, but it makes it so much easier to keep the soil damp but not a soggy swamp.

Argh. Anywho to add on to that. He should get real live moss, and keep it moist. Moss is like a sponge.

I have heard that if given a certain type of 'junk' food, such as mice, pacmans can actually become 'addicted' to it. I'm not necessarily sure if that's true, but I've read about that on multiple sides and would like to say that, if that shop was only feeding him mice, he very well might be hooked on rodents.

I'm not sure if it's true, but. X__X If so:

I know what you mean. When I had a pac-man he was "hooked on phonics" for a while.

Seriously, I have nothing to ad here, but thought you might like a chuckle.

That's interesting! I had a friend who once fed his pacman Hermetia illucens larvae. From then on it was "hooked on phoenix".

(This story isn't true... I never actually had a friend. (Is there a drum-roll smiley?))

That would explain alot, I'll do a bit of research on that, if so, I Suppose if i give him another week or two, and he starts to look like he's starving, I'll have to stick with mice then and just calcium dust them, and look into other nutrients to dust them with.

As John stated he shouldn't have any issues getting the cricket. Yes the are sedentary but also work the element of surprise by being ambush attackers.
My frog loves his crickets, and even though the lack in sight, they make up for it with their other senses. Yes, they are chubby little buggers, but never underestimate their speed when it comes to getting their grub on.

Go to the mullberry farms site. Products

They have all the feeder insects you will ever need. I would recommend Dubia roaches. They will not cause intestinal blockages. They are easy to breed... Just put a bunch in a big tupperware container with some egg crate, a sponge and whatever you want to use to gut-load.

They also sell tobacco horn worms, which frogs go crazy for.

I'm not sure of what the function of the plexi is can you please explain? Is it a method to filter dirt to another layer? /Leonard

Very thin sheets of plexiglass to the point its able to be bend without breaking, is used to keep the dirt AWAY from the gravel, or bottom part. Which would be the "sewer" of the tank. All the water would head down there. Its used so then you dont have mushy dirt that smells like a dying dog.

Sounds like a good idea, there's small holes in the plexi then I assume?

No, because the dirt would go through. But water goes through ANYTHINg even if it does it slowly. Same will happen with that. They are just layered in a way that water can go in, but dirt cant slip in.

I placed in about 10 crickets today, and tried tong feeding him superworms and bought a mouse (just in case, since he was beginning to look thinner and becoming lethargic).

He's finally eating, he had about 5 so far, though he gets discouraged when he tries to bite one and it switches away just before hand, and refuses to try to eat that one again.

How many should I feed him a day?

Super worms bite. Ived worked in a petstore. I used to bag them for people. Ived gotten nasty bites from them. Try holding one by the body for a few secs or mins. You will see what Iam talking about. Also they will clog up your frogs system. Try feeding earthworms, butterworms, silkworms, roaches, even crickets are better than super worms or meal worms.

Look, I'm getting a bit tired of this "try feeding him this or that cause what your feeding him is bad", Its been almost 3 weeks actually since He's had a mouse, Has refused EVERYTHING i've tried to feed him, just today I've managed to get him to eat superworms, He's getting thin and lathargic, and refusing to eat anything but that so far, I need to know the size of a potion at the moment, because I'd rather my frog die fat and happy eating something bad for him, than die because he's starved, thin, too tired to move, and unhappy.

He still won't eat worms or crickets, I cannot get roaches, I'm apparently not supposed to feed him mice or super worms, or fish or lizards.

What am I supposed to do here, he's going to die If i don't feed him something he will eat.
