Will a 25 watt daylight blue bulb work fine for my pacman frog? I'll have it on a timer for 12hrs. I also have a UTH on the back of his terrarium. Is that fine, thanks in advance guys!!![]()
Yes that should be ok. Just watch you temp doesn't go to high. You can pick up a dimmer at home depot for like 10 bucks.
Whats a good temperature for them?
Around 83-85 is a good temp for a younger pacman frog.
Okay thanks. I have another question how often do young pacmans eat? I've had him since Sunday, that's when I bought him from PetSmart. The assistant put a cricket in his container and he ate it right away. On the way home he did poop. Once I got home I settled him in his new home. Put in a cricket in there and he ate it. He hasn't eaten since Sunday. Is that normal? Is it cause he hasn't pooped? How often do they poop? I've tried feeding him, I even put him in a different container, and have dangled crickets in front of him with tongs and nothing! I've even tried the zoo med pacman frog food and nothing! Should I try a different feeder? Through my eyes he seems healthy. I mean his well rounded, doesn't look skinny. The temperature in his terrarium is at 84 degrees, the humidity is in the upper 70's. I use eco earth as a substrate. At night I do hear him moving around, and I've seen him get in his water bowl. And throughout the day he's buried into the ground just with his eyes peeking out. Am I doing something wrong? Or am I just over worrying?? Please, hopefully someone may help me. I don't want anything to happen to Mr. Wartz. That's what I've named for now, unless he turns out to be a female then he'll become Mrs. Wartz. Thanks guys!
Don't worry I bet he will eat Tonight. Its normal for them to stop for a couple days while adjusting to a new home. You should offer food everynight when a baby, he may eat he may not. Do you let your temps drop at night? this is when they hunt in the wild.
Yes. I drop the temperature at night to about 78? Is that OK
