    Default Bufo Alvaris Toad question

I have a question about adult bufo alvarius. I have am wondering if there are any experienced keepers out there that could shed light on why one of my toad isn't eating. Do toads go dormant when it gets too cold? The temps in the tank right now are ambient which stays around 60-75 room temperature during night and day, Only one toad is currently eating and the 7 inch female has not been.

Default Re: Bufo Alvaris Toad question

    Dear,
When they do not eat for longer than 2weeks that isn't a good sign.
When they shed they might not eat for a few days, but when not within two weeks an infection could be the reason.

    And about temperature:
    60-75 is too cold, definitely.

It should be at least 70 at night and in the 80s during the day. And not only under the spots.

So maybe that's why your Toad isn't eating. But since the other does, maybe a disease is the case.

Hope it's not for sure, just report back how long the toad is not eating...

    Best wishes,
    Oliver
