The other day i was looking at my spring peeper's tank and i saw a ton of these tiny white things:![]()
they are living, and keep jumping around and climbing on him. Can anyone tell me what they are, and if they are dangerous to small frogs?
I have another image where i circled a few of them below.
most likely those are springtails and if so that is a good thing because they will help clean the tank and your frogs will enjoy snacking on them as well.
thank you, i was really worried that they might be dangerous.
I also keep spring peeps. We took mud, water, plants, and all from his habitat. My buddy sold his property so his pond is being backfilled. Our little snots, ate them all up lmao. Unless they attack the frogs you should be ok.
Did you know peepers are actually considered tree frogs?
Actually, they were reclassified as chorus frogs, their genetic makeup is closer to the chorus frog group than the tree frog group
Wow. Did not know that. We use paherps.com for our local guys. Thank you.
Maybe peep(pun intended) it out? There are some fairly rare and spectacular frogs and sallymanders i need help catching lmao. It alsolutely blows my mind watching a little swamp frog(where i found them) cling to vertical grass like a champ.
