I read somewhere that star moss doesn't do well in aquarium because it isn't true aquatic. If that's the case, could I buy it and put it in my vivarium? I usually keep the humidity high, so that won't be an issue.
I have tried this two different times in two different vivariums. Unfortunately, I could not get it to stay alive more than 3-4 months. It's worth a try if you do not mind spending money on something that will likely eventually fail. The first time, I thought I lost it because I had some new viv mold and part of it got hit with it. Second time, no mold, still died out after a few months. It reacted the same in both my higher humidity viv and my lower humidity viv.
