White's Vivarium Water level?

I read the care sheet and I see there are a few options. One i see is the obvious water bowl hat is probably most common but there is also something in there about you can have a tank that is filled enough to filtration and fish because they wont enter the deep water. My question is if i want to do the deep water fish setup, will i have to have a water bow too or will misting the frog be enough? thanks
