Default Hey fellow frog people :)

Hi I'm Lisa and I am from Renmark in South Australia, Australia
I'm new to frog keeping and have two small green tree frogs and two small Green and Gold bell frogs ....I fell in love with these fellas at my local pet shop and couldn't leave them behind, tried very hard to 'cause the other 1/2 is not animal crazy like I am!!! I'm lucky he loves me and it's easy to get around him - I just ask if he loves me no matter what....easy answer yes or no .... 1st time I asked him I came home with a kitten and this time 2 frogs, then I went to get crickets and oooops 'hey what's this, they're not crickets, they're frogs!!!!
I don't want to breed them or go into this hobby big time, I just have my 4 and want to give them my full attention...Same with my fish, 1 big tank with discus that get my love, my 3 birds, my chooks, my dogs, and of course my cat, next I'm wanting a turtle or two
I do my animal rounds every morning and afternoon and they all love me and know exactly what's going on, they're all quite cute and have their own little ways about them. Ahhh they keep me happy

I have one question about my frogs though, the pet shop where I purchased my frogs say I can keep the 4 of them together successfully, would you confirm this for me, I hate for anything to happen to any of them...can I keep them in the same habitat always???

Thanks, in advance, for your advice - Lisa

    Hi Lisa!!

I'm a SA girl too! YAY!! You sound very much like me with your mini zoo My fiancé knew what he was getting into when he asked me to marry him

'm still quite a newbie with frogs but have done a lot of study leading up to getting ready to purchase my new family members.. If I may, I could open up the floor to help answer your question. How big is your habitat? Also do you have any pics?

Hey Kyrie.....At the min I have them in a 'fish bowl' it's the biggest you can get, about 500mm diameter in middle, as they are very small I don't loose them...I have a vivarium on order, 90, 51, 60cm coming and plan on planting it out with fish and rain forest theme and let it sit for a few weeks before I put in the frogs, so the system cycles and develops it's own good bacteria, like my fish tank has, I'll probably take some of the media from the fish filter to expedite the process.

Where in SA are you?? What have you got as pets?

How awesome! I'm looking at ordering in the Exo Terra 90x60x40 which looks really nice All my life I have had pets surrounding me. My fiancé just came back from a year long trip around Canada and America so I'm 'building' my zoo again. At the moment we have a golden retriever pup and a dwarf lop rabbit
