My frog's X-Ray! (don't keep frogs with gravel)

I thought this x-ray might be interesting for fellow Budgetts fans out there. My Budgett's frog's name is Minion. I foolishly had him living in a tank that contained large pieces of gravel. He didn't even seem to notice it for over 6 months. Then one day I came home and picked him up- he sounded like a bag of marbles. I brought him to the vet who treats my other frogs. She did an x-ray (show below if I set it up correctly.) Turns out he ate NINETEEN rocks! She was able to remove 18 of them. The last stone was already in his intestine so she couldn't reach it. Thankfully it was a small rock so he was able to eventually poop it out. So how his tank is totally rock-free! Poor little guy. The first picture, obviously, is the x-ray. The second is the frog after the procedure with the bowl of rocks next to him.

This has to be the "coolest" thread post I've seen on here in a long time. I'm glad the frog is alright. How did the vet remove the rocks? I'm very curious about that. I think this thread will get a sticky!

That is amazing and I'm so glad Minion's ok!!! I wonder why he swallowed those rocks?

This reminds me of mushing dogs we here in Alaska, that will swallow hords of rocks as a result of digestive problems or due to a lack of something in their diet. At the vet's office, they have a record of one husky eating a total of 50 pounds worth of rocks!!! It's crazy!!

This is crazy, what an amazing story. Glad he survived, I'm also with John... Your vet must of been very experienced in removing all those rocks in the procedure without causing damage or harm to the frog. I'm not sure if the Budgetts frog have been known to swallow rocks more than other semi-aquatic or aquatic frogs, but I'm definitely not going to keep my pixie in his new setup when I build it with gravel. Thanks for sharing.

how do they get rocks like that out of the frogs? put them to sleep or something and pull them out or what i have never heard of them being able to pull rocks out of a frog
