Hello!
new to the forum because i needed help with an issue
my frog seems to have a squishy lump under his chin, not discolored or painful to the touch
any ideas?
that gauge in the pic isnt accurate btw
Squishy? You mean it looks squishy or it feels squishy? It looks like a pretty normal male frog starting to stretch out his throat pouch. But if it feels like more than a pocket of air and it stays on one side of his throat, you might want to see a herp vet. It could be a cyst or tumor.
Looks like throat patch development to me too. Jelly Bean has been developing his and he stayed lopsided for quite some time. Your guy's looks perfectly normal imo
Here's some pics of my guys as their throat pouches developed...

Jelly Bean developed a wrinkle before his throat pouch started to expand, one side at a time.

Only pic I have so far of Sir Honey-Lime's throat pouch. The lil devil doesn't usually let me catch him sounding off!

Mom to these fine frogs!
4.4.0 White's tree frogs (Litoria caerulea): Sir Honey Lime, Bok & Choi, Martha, Shirley, Leapin' Loo and Ping & Pong; 0.2.1 Amazon Milk Frogs (Trachycephalus resinifictrix): Otto & Echo and Pip-Squeak aka Tiny
2.0.0 South American Bird Poo Frogs (Hyla marmorata): Ribbit & Rupert
I had no idea there throats get even bigger! Spike only has a wrinkle right now, but it comes out when he croaks.
