ACF or Budgetts Frog?

Hi everyone!
A few months ago, I would've never seen myself as a frog owner, but ever since I got my pacman for Edgar, I want more of them! So I decided to pick between an ACF and a Budgetts frog. So I have some questions for the both of them.

1. What temperatures do their tanks needs to be kept at?
2. How different are their diets?
3. Do one of them need a larger cage than the other?

If I think of anything else I'll be sure to add it!

I don't know much of Budgett frogs but I do know about ACFs.
They need 68-76 so room temp. and unlike Budgett frogs Acfs don't need live food. also as far as I know they both need 10 gallons. But I do believe that if you do get a bigger tank you wont be able to put in more than 1 budgett frog. But if you get a 20 gallon you can put 2 Acfs in it and 3 in a 20 gallon long due to its floor space.

There is lots of info on ACF at forum including care sheets if you search for them. I keep a Budgett and their care is different since they are from warmer areas. Males get to 3 in. and females to 4.5 in. So a 10 gal. for male and 15 for female are minimal. Myself keep a young 3 in. in a 20L. Need a filter since they poop a lot. Otherwise you are doing daily huge water changes with same temp and pH dechlorinated water. Mine is at 80-82F; keep frog water 78-85F and provide a water depth of 1.5 to 3X the frog's thickness.

Mine eats not dyed night crawlers lightly dusted with Repashy's Calcium Plus as staple every other day. Once a week or 2, it also get's a thawed out small fish rated for human consumption (from local Asian Market). These guys have huge Pacman like mouths and it's recommended to keep alone to prevent cannibalism.

Do not encourage brumation! Your frog will be fine and safer living it's life in water. Hope this helps and good luck .

I would love to have a Budgett's frog, but I am stuck on ACFs. I have been keeping them for many years. 76 degrees (F) is a bit high for Xenopus laevis (the commonly kept ACF), ideally the temperature should be be between 68-72. There are other species of ACF that are available that can be kept at higher temperatures, like Xenopus muelleri and Xenopus tropicallis.

Thanks for all the replies! I think I am leaning more toward Budgett just because I like the way they look more and I know I can provide proper care for either frog. I'd still love to hear from more people though!

I'll be going to the pet store by the end of next week! Hopefully that the Budgetts frog that was there last week is still there. If not, I'll be waiting until that get another one in stock! I mean most people have no clue what they are, so hopefully that will prevent them from buying them. Unfortunately, we all know that isn't the case and clueless people buy "cool" pets all the time!

Will either of them eat my snails? Or will I need to relocate them?
