Was pretty disappointed to find that my copper FBT had gotten out of it's tank last week.
After a thorough search of the frog room I gave up and decided to accept the fact that I might never see it again. Last night I turned off all the lights in the frog and fish room due to basement getting flooded from storm we had. When I went back down to turn on the lights a few hours later I was quite surprised to find the missing FBT on the ground in the fishroom next to one of my 75g
. It still looks quite plumb and surprisingly hydrated.
Wow, that is one lucky little toad! Glad to hear it was okay. I've had a few close calls as well, and these toads never fail to surprise me on where they will turn up. My dogs water dish is a favourite spot. Hope your little one learned its lesson!
This is my second escaped FBT. First one was when I first got them and thought they coulndn't climb glass. Well one definitely climbed out and I found it a few days later dried up. Going to be even more careful now on.
Thats good news.
My White's tree frog escaped in the living room on green carpet. I set bowls of water around the room that night but no frog. Turned over all the furniture and got down on hands and knees and searched. Stood up, turned around and there he was, sitting on the carpet behind me. Have no idea where he had been and he wasn't talking. So, don't ever give up, persistence pays off.![]()
He was probably following you the entire time, giggling to himself.![]()
Very lucky indeed.
