It very well could be a frog or toad.
I'm new here. I do have a interest in Frogs & Hoppy Toads.
I also have question;do frogs or toads berry them selves in dirt, or should I say in gardens. My husband was watering the flower garden this morning. All of a sudden we heard a strange sound coming from one of our flower pots that has a plant in it. It sounded just like a frog.
I examined it. I didn't find neither frog or toad. But i did find a big whole {about 2 to 2 and a 1/2 inches wide}.
Now I don't want to stick my hand in the whole, when I not sure what I am dealing with plus I don't want to scare it away.
What do you think, could this be a frog or a toad in my garden. If so it is welcome to stay and eat as many insects as it would like.![]()

Hi and welcome to the forum.
That's cool if you have a frog living at your house. I would be tempted to sit and watch and wait to see what comes out. Oh and if you do, have your camera ready.![]()
Sheesh, Paul, thats overkill. Whatever comes out will be interesting.![]()
Good morning! And thank you all for your wonderful replies.
Well, I went back again, and to my surprise, the frog had already come out from it's whole, sitting right beside my feet. Sorry Ebony, I did have the camera with me.
But I will give you a description and maybe you or someone can tell me what kind of frog this is?
The frog was green {like a spring green} and did have what looks to me like warts, same color green as the body. A slim body from head to belly and a little taller at the back bone & wider toward the back & back legs.
And this frog jumps very high - it was a good size frog.
Roughly guessing about, 3 to 3 1/2 inches long & 1 1/2 inches wide from head to belly & 2 inches wide toward the back (leg to leg).
That's the best description I can give. Hope it's enough for you to pin point it.
Thank you again for all the replies, genesis![]()
Where are you located exactly?
