Default Not gaining or losing weight?

Sally does not gain weight, but she doesn't lose it either. She's always been a active frog, good eater, regular poos. She is a good weight, but could definitely benefit from a bit of weight gain.

I have done my research, sounds like she could possibly have worms, but she doesn't show any other symptoms.

I was going to try feeding her wax worms because I've heard they can be fattening.

    Please reply!

It is possible that worms could be the problem, but how old is your frog? And can you show us a ic?? Wax worms should only be used as a treat

Sorry what is a ic? I'm not good with abbreviations she's a sub adult, not sure exactly her age. She's just over 2 1/2 inches, if that helps. I wasn't planning on feeding her wax worms regularly, but every once in a while because of her small size maybe it could help.

2 1/2 inches is still pretty young, youngins tend to be a little smaller when it comes to animals. My guess is she is 18 months old from what I have heard.

Oh yes I've seen skinny. This poor frog at petland wasn't getting food, all the other frogs in the tank were nice and fat except this one. Didn't have the time or money to help it, but told the staff to feed it! Went there a week ago, and now it's gone! Probably died, poor thing.

If you think she has parasites then no amount of feeding up is going to help her. Both your frogs should be tested, and if found positive for parasites will need to be medicated. Sally should start putting on weight once the problem is resolved. Here's a link to a lab that does various testing on reptiles (and amphibians)for reasonable rates Repti-Labs - Fecal Float Testing

    Hello,
    I'm sorry I don't know your name
Mine is Lynn...it's nice to have another opportunity to try to help you

    My 2 cents:
All new frogs/acquisitions need to be quarantined -for a minimum of 30 days.
Many, many times a longer period of time is needed.
I have personally QT'd a tree frog species for over 6 months.

ANY frog purchased from a big box store needs to have fecal done by a herp vet.
    Regardless of symptoms.
All frogs from a big box ( IMO) should be QT'd separately.
I believe others and myself mentioned this in other posts for you recently

    Here you go !
Here is a link to my recent reply,
so I don't have to type it again as these replies take time ,are done with care, and carefully done for each member to the very best of our abilities
(please see complete instruction in post #4) link below

    To everyone reading this !
Please take the time to do a search on sick Whites tree frogs here on FF .
You will find some very sad, devastated stories that are the outcome of NOT getting a fecal/testing leading to problems and
often the sad and preventable death of a frog

May I respectively suggest, to all, this information be taken very seriously
    http://www.frogforum.net/tree-frogs/...-opinions.html

Remember, just because a frog was less costly does not mean less costly to care for.
I maintain 12 species of frogs....NONE, none are more needy than the tree frogs!

I'll add to what Lynn said.
Please keep all your questions in one thread, this way is easier to advise. None of us have time to go through 10-20 threads on the same frog trying to fish information.

    I'll try to summarize:
-You got two frogs a week ago
-you didn't quarantine them, nor fecal was done, in fact you were having the attitude who cares about that stuff.
    - you have these two frogs in a tiny tank with moss, that in your opinion is big enough and moss is perfectly ok.
    - you don't want to listen to anything anybody says.

So just as Lynn suggested you should review all information you received so far.
Save one animal and it doesn't change the world, but it surely changes the world for that one animal!

    Lija, that is not right.

I have had my frogs for almost a year.

No I did not quarantine them as they were together when I bought them, and I'm sorry but I can't drop 70$ for each frog on a poo test.

It's a 33 gallon tank for two sub adults. I know there is quite a bit of conflict on tank size. Some would say this is plenty of room, some say it's not. I think it's okay, and my frogs seem to like it as well. A lot of people use moss, including me. I've never had issues with it, but if I would I will remove it.

I am open to opinions. In fact, I thought quarantine only needed to happen for a week when adding a new frog to the tank, but I found out it needs to happen for at least a month and I plan to follow that advice. I do not appreciate it when the advice is rude and unthoughtful.

Also, sorry for putting too many posts, I thought I was making easier for everyone. Guess not

Lija I don't want to hear your opinion about my frogs anymore. You are being rude and disrespectful to me and my sister. We have had our frogs for almost a year and they didn't need to be quarantined because they came together and lived in the same cage. The tank is definitely not tiny at 33 gallons. I have used moss since i got them, and as i said, i would remove it if it became a problem. I do listen to others on here, that is why i joined the frog forum. I have not done a fecal test because there has been no need to but i may consider getting one done if sally doesn't gain weight. Hope that clears things up Lija.

Apparently you failed to even read my post. Fecal exams can be done through Repti-labs for as little as $5.95 per frog. Please do not come in here and ask for advice then jump all over the people who are willing to give it to you at no expense. Also, and I hope I am not remiss in stating this here, I do not believe you have the knowledge it takes to be advising others at this point, particularly when you have consistently failed to graciously take the advice given by others, and have repeatedly snarked those who have. I know I have no further wish to reply to you and your sister after the way you have been treating people, but I only do so for your frogs' sake in hoping something will soak in before it is too late. If you snipe back to me I will not be replying. I'm done.
