Default Not gaining or losing weight?

No Repti-labs in Canada. I do not feel that i have offended members of the frog forum except for Lija in defense. I do listen to others.

If you had even bothered to look at the link I gave you you would see that it is a MAIL-IN SERVICE Repti-Labs - Fecal Float Testing I'm done now. Good luck to your frogs.

Lija is definitely one of the more knowledgeable members of this forum and that's a big reason that she's a mod. If you girls disregard her advice, you are disregarding great advice. She only cares about your frogs. Others have given you some of the exact same advice Lija has, regarding the moss and tank size etc, and yet you ignore all of them and continue to attack Lija. It's getting really old.

I have used moss since i got them, and as i said, i would remove it if it became a problem. I do listen to others on here, that is why i joined the frog forum. I have not done a fecal test because there has been no need to but i may consider getting one done if sally doesn't gain weight. Hope that clears things up Lija.

You are being disrespectful to a moderator on this forum and that is against the rules. I will not warn you as it isn't my job, but you will be warned by a mod. She didn't know the exacts and that is okay, not everyone is perfect. I hope you consider what I have said, it is sad to see people get banned.

    A) ALL frogs need to be quarantined. Especially any tree frog purchased at a pet store. I don't care if it is a white's, retf or AGTF. There is about a 90% probability that they are wild caught. Wild caught frogs bring wild pathogens. Whether they are housed together or not, they should still be quarantined. That is not an argument against quarantining, but FOR it. If one has medical issues, then you should assume both do.

    B) moss on the floor of a white's tank is not good. Yeah yeah yeah, I know, if you have a problem, you'll remove it. But if one of your frogs ingests it and gets impacted, your problem is already beyond help. So, I implore you, to listen to those with experience, and at the very least, cover the moss with leaf litter. It's more like they would encounter in their natural habitat anyway.

    C) I have addressed the size of tank issue and am exhausted of that.

I would like to relate a little anecdote about quaranting, if you will indulge me for a minute. A good friend of mine and I both rescued white's from petco a few years back. I quarantined mine, and of course, he knew better (?) and just added his to his enclosure, which was similar to yours. Mine had runny poo. A fecal was shipped, meds received, frog was treated and lived a happy life. Still is living a happy life with a breeder friend of mine. My buddy's frog has runny poo as well, but he didn't know because it ran into the moss. He found it a month later while cleaning out the tank after his frog passed from being impacted from ingesting forest moss.

Irthumper, I live in Canada and I was told that you can't do online labs if you are from Canada. I have contacted the only local herp vet and asked about prices for fecals, but no response yet. I am very limited as to what I can do for my frogs here in Canada.

I try not to tell people what to do, just tell them what I do know.

Really sorry if you feel that I've been disrespectful to others. I feel disrespected myself by some.

Irthumper, I have found your replies to be helpful and I hope you will continue to reply.

If there is anything at all you think I'm doing seriously wrong, please let me know.

Leaf litter? Hmmm, maybe I could try that instead if you really advise against moss. I really just like to keep it as natural as possible.

Fine, here's my final suggestion. If you want to know what to do for your frogs and you are in Canada, then I HIGHLY suggest you listen to an experienced frog expert who is also in Canada, and that would be Lija.

I and I am sure everyone who had offended you is sorry. You aren't being extremely disrespectful, but most of the people who have replied to your posts are extremely experienced with frogs, some for almost a decade. I would try to everything that lija had said.
