Food size

For those of you who said pinkie mice are to big for whites, and that it should be the width between their eyes in every angle, a worm is much longer than the width between their eyes, so are night crawlers. Just wondering how a pinkie is much different than a worm?

Worms don't have bones, that's probably the difference. Somewhat easier to digest.

I suppose, but they don't eat them in a way that the bones would go down abnormally.

Yeah I'm sure they're going down the right way but I've had my White's become constipated from eating too large crickets and getting stopped up by all the chitin. The bones will probably digest eventually but why strain the frogs?

Never had that happen. They seem to be doing quite well and loved eating them.

A worm is soft, no bone and squishy. Roll it into a ball and you will see that even in a ball, the worm isnt any bigger/wider than the space between their eyes at any angle.

A mice is solid, full of bone, hard to digest and definatly not squeeshy. Adults, not sub adults, CAN be fed pinkies as a once in a while treat for diversity of food and nutrients. They should not be use as a "fatting " diet and never mind a every feeding time food.

Impaction and constipation might of not happen to you yet but it just might be coming! And i sincerely hope not.

Mariepey, it sounds like you are under the impression that we feed mice regularly to our frogs. That is not the case! In fact, these were there first mice. I've never fed them to our frogs before. Thank you for being kind while sharing your opinion.

I understand that a forum is a place to share opinions and ideas, but when others start Insulting and questioning my care for my HEALTHY frogs, it can get a little out of hand.
