Hi there! I hear a lot of people complaining that their whites' aren't active and seem quite boring. That is not the case with my two! Every time I look in the cage their eyes open up they even jump on the glass of the cage! Feeding is very intense, especially with Betty. Betty and Sally have even gotten into fights. Another thing is that they seem to treat each other as another "object" in the tank and crawl onto each other and overtop without a care. Of course the frog getting stepped on tries to "wipe" them off. They seem very interactive with humans though. They follow my movement and as I said before the eyes open up when they see me.
Thats is a bit about my frogs personalities. Tell me about yours?
I think these guys are loaded with personality!Maybe the other WTFs are just too busy sleeping off too much food to be interesting

Sir Honey-Lime is my skittish sassy-pants frog... he'll do what he can to leap out of the tank and jump around when I go to clean up the enclosure or to get him out to weigh him. He was the same way when I bought him and jumped right out of Petco's tank and landed on the floor! Couldn't really blame him though, I'd want to jump out of there too!
Shirley is my head-tilt girl (at least I think she's a girl, lol!) who won't let anything stop her. She's a bit special needs, but she's learned how to deal with her challenging impediment and keep on stalking and gobbling bugs. She's not afraid to speak up when Honey annoys her and will squawk or meep at him when she's displeased with Honey's shenanigans!
sHEila was my first fooler... a HE and not a she, though the name (albeit modified) stuckA mighty hunter & voracious feeder, bright eyed and interested, and very vocal... before I had to put him on a fast. He used to let me strike up a croaking convo with him all the time-- now I think he's just on strike, lol.
And last, but not least, Jelly Bean. Another special froggle, sex undetermined yet, but I'm hoping he's a she... lol. I saved Jelly from being mashed under a piece of mopani wood in Petco-- the clerk thought she was poo!!My most laid back frog, she didn't open her eyes for three days after coming home, but when she discovered she was in a good place she gradually came out of her shell. Jelly loves hunting crickets, enjoys a good meal, and particularly loves taking a nice soak in her little pond spa. She's very zen!

I wanted to post a blog on this because I keep seeing people say that dumpies are "friendly" and can be handled. Which is sometimes true, but it's misleading because frogs are so different.
Bonk came from PetCo and I think he was stressed out by his small tank there and further stressed out by being taken to the vet, dosed with anti-protozoa medication and given baths for impaction. He sleeps most of the time and almost always hides when I walk into the room. Sometimes he only comes out in complete darkness, but occasionally he'll come out in the evening and sit there, staring at me.
I've only had Julep for part of a month, but he seems active and lively even during the day. When he doesn't fall asleep in his food bowl, that is. He's shy like most frogs, but he doesn't seem easily frightened. He'd probably let me pick him up, but I don't want to handle the frogs too much.
I definitely agree! My two almost seem to enjoy being handled, but it is very misleading when people say they are friendly and easy to handle. Sally jumps all over the place! Sally is quite comfortable with me, but in the hands of an unknown person she kinda freaks out. When I first got my frogs, I had no idea that they could jump and climb the way they do! Nobody ever told me that!
It's funny, because 99% of the time Bonk is an immobile bump on a log, but if he's hungry he'll leap across the cage and take a cricket in one swoop. Both my White's are deceptively slow moving, but if they want to they can practically fly. There's barely any warning so handling them is nerve wracking, never mind wrangling both the frog and a cricket at the same time. I keep worrying about escapes.
Is jellybean a snowflake? My little Sally is a snowflake. I will post pictures soon.
Wow! I am just loving this post!!!! Awesome idea!
Funny how i got to wonder about the same thing earlier today.. see "Frog Whispere Anyone?" Post.. lol
Gigs.. oh my Gigs..
I would say Gigs is a very bright and alert little guy. The road hone was full of giggles and still today, our everyday interactions are full of giggles. I find him a bit moody in a way.. some days he will welcome me and stand still and sone other days he wants nothing to do with me. He slept all day out in the open today, not shy with the camera, not shy at feeding time (as i stare at him thru the window like a kid at a candy store window lol) and hes actually not shy with me either. He stands and lovessssss his belly rubs! Doesnt like his eyes/head covered by my hand when i pick him up yo move him around and doesnt like getting in the water for warm baths.. lol tho will sit in there forever once he realise whats going on. Lol
I blame most of his unpleasant sides (including the peeing when i first handle him) due to the unknown. He was from a petstore and we all know petstores and their knowledge and care of living creatures...
Anyways.. only one word i could describe him with afterall... Giggles!!!!
