I've used it in ponds. Very fast grower. Here in NY it will die in the winter, but considered an invasive species in certain areas. Can choke out a body of water quickly. Not sure what use you had in mind, probably too big for the average terrarium.

Ive used this with my RES turtles and it is a very fast grower, As long as you keep it warm (70-75F) with lots of sunlight, it should thrive.

im trying to find a video i saw of dwarf arfican bullfrog and there was hyacinth in the tank. ill try later when i have more time.

I'm experienced in killing water hyacinth indoors over winter. Insufficient lighting is my usual problem. Water lettuce might be another option. It seems to do a little better indoors, for me at least.

What nutrients, specifically, are needed?
I'm sure a little frog poop can't hurt

If you decided to use these and get them going......you will need quite a bit of space.

Have you considered getting them started in a separate - plant- only - garage sale- aquarium
with a filter running ?

there just in a 15g in front of a huge window.(i only have a few) i decided not to include them in any tanks because i bought them off someone i dont know and i think they kept them outside before i got them.
