B. americanus Metamorphs.

Here's some pictures of the newly "acquired" metamorphs. I'm still working on the tank a bit but they seem to be enjoying it in their own way.
There are four of the little ones in there as well as some small pill-bugs, ants (from the soil I used), some other small bugs and some pinhead crickets. The pinheads have either escaped, burrowed or been eaten because there are only a dozen or so in there that I can see but I've only actually seen one being eaten..which was pretty cool to see.







These two are of the "habitat." The bit of strawberry is to try to attract fruitflies...it has, however, failed miserably. I've also taken out some of the leaf litter to give the pinhead crickets fewer placed to hide.This is my first toad tank so if you see anything wrong/in need of improvement please feel free to berate me

I think you're doing fine, though I would not have a water dish just to avoid the risk of the toadlets drowning. Have you considered flightless fruit flies as a food? A lot cheaper than crickets.

I just picked up some flightless fruit flies today; the first couple of places I went didn't have any but finally decided to try out Petco. They are also a bit smaller than the pinheads, which I will probably save till the toads are a bit bigger.

Thanks. I recently changed the set-up a bit. I now have them in a 10 gallon tank instead of the 5.5 gallon pictured. I also took out the water and some of the leaf litter.
I have to find a new substrate, the crickets just find any hole possible and disappear.
They are eating like voracious little monsters now. The minute I tip some fruit-flies into the tank they go to town on the buggers(no pun intended).

What exactly is a B. americanus Metamorph? I know what a B. americanus is, but the metamorph thing has me puzzled. Does it simply mean they were tadpoles just a little while ago and have recently changed into toadlets?

They sure are tiny! Really cute!
