I know I probably need one if a add a fish since my filter just has a slight ripple effect but im not sure if its necessary for just frogs
The bubbler would help create more oxygen in the water making the living environment better for the fish. Although there may
be some sort of benefit to oxygenated water, Its not needed for the frogs.

I did it when I only had a water bowl in my grey tree frog's tank. I kept it like that for a long time because there was an increase in humidity while I had it running. Now they have a large, filtered water area, so it's not necessary anymore.
