Hello everyone, the other day I noticed that my female pcf was making screeching sounds, almost like she was trying to call. So I wondered if anyone else has experienced this same thing? Thanks!

Anyone? She has been staring at the glass almost all day. Could she be seeing her reflection and think its a buddy?

that's crazy, are you sure its a female? About how old is she?
I've been waiting for my two PCF's to make a peep, screech, or croak for a while. I believe they're both female, but I'm waiting for some sort of confirmation. I hope someone chimes in on your frog's noises, I'm a bit curious to see what's up with her
Are you sure she is a "she" ? I noticed the tree frogs that I have go through what I call "froggy puberty" and have strange squeaky voices before developing their normal call. All my males have done this, both greys and red eyes, and catch me off guard.

She was an adult when I got her, full size, I have had her for over a year now and I have never heard a peep out of her

I had a grey tree frog for 4 years before figuring out that he was a male He's never once called...but I found him in amplexus with my big female LOL. Hence the male tree frog named "Silvermist."

I'll try to get a picture of his/her feet to see if we might be able to better identify her/him lol

Well he/she wouldn't stay still for pictures so I will have to do it later. If she is a he then that would explain him/her staring at its own reflection all day

Er, hate to tell you this, but you need a pic from the top/front of the hands Can't really tell from this angle. Also a pic of the throat might help. Have you heard any frogs calling outside that he/she might be answering? Being by herself might not have given froggy any incentive to say anything before. Been misting lately? Humidity levels up or any rain storms? That can induce males to call too
Sir Honey-Lime is starting to call now too and is sounding a bit rusty, lol.
Mom to these fine frogs!

The only thing that is different is the fact that he/she is in a glass aquarium instead of a plastic tub. No frogs around here, not for a few miles at least. Nothing really is different, except for the tank change.
