I read online that fish flake food can also be used to help gut-load crickets. I was thinking of adding some to your recipe as I have fish food left over from feeding tadpoles....anyone else tried this? Great care article, too. Almost makes me want to try breeding my own....almost!

Great article! Where do you acquire so much egg carton? Also I am confused about the food recipe. 1/2 a blender of the catfood, and i understand the 10:1 ratio of powdered milk to vitamin, but you just said parts per volume and I don't know what that means in terms of catfood:milk/vitamin ratio. Can you shed some light on this?

    Thank you.
I buy eggs in bulk and save the cartons.
Josh's Frogs has them very cheap.

It can be used for a long time if you keep it clean.
By total volume of cat food. However much cat food you decide to mix up, add 10% powdered milk and 1% vitamin.
It works out to about 1 Tablespoon of vitamin.
You don't have to be exact, you can pretty much eyeball it. These measurements are just an idea of how much I use.

I was following your fish flake technique Jo, I'm puzzled as to the purpose of dumping them all over the floor. Is that a method to sort them?

I wonder, are the adversely avoiding it because of the color or because that color is composed of something different?
