That's where a test kit comes in. You monitor levels. Ammonia will spike, then nitrites, then nitrates. There should be a few threads on it in the aquatic frog sections that you may want to go over

Let's go all stop and back up to part you stated to have used "organic soil." There are organic compounds that will create havoc in a frog/fish enclosure. Do you have a complete ingredient list for that soil?

We recommend using ABG soil mixes that you either buy complete or mix yourself. Commercial organic soils can have stuff added to them that could work against you in a vivarium or aquatic set-up .
