    Default Pacman growth

Hi, was wondering if this is normal growth rate for an albino Pacman frog. I've had him for 9 months and, I believe it's a he by the shape of his snout, but at the same time I haven't seen a nuptial pad on his feet or heard him croak so I actually think it's a female but I don't know. Right now I don't have a camera but I'm hoping to get one soon. Anyways I took his stats recently and his weight is 10 oz and length is 4 inches. He has gained weight but he hasn't gained length. He's been at 4 inches for 3 months now. How is his growing rate compared to what you've seen in your Pacmans. Also what you think of his weight at this size? I look at him and he's plump and round. Also no signs of MBD.

Temp usually about 72 and humidity at about 60%. It's been getting below 70's recently because of the summer heat here, so I recently put a heat pad on the back glass and the temp gauge on the opposite side reads 82 degrees and the humidity is about 50-60% right now. Is the temperature right? Or because the heat pad is located on the back of the glass should I raise it to about 100 degrees for the rest of the tank to heat up more? Anyhow thanks in advance.

Hi there TypingMonkey. Sorry I dont keep and know much about Pacman frogs apart from what Ive heard on this forum. I do know that the females grow to 6-7 inches and the male approximately 4 inches. It may be that your frog is a male and has finished growing. The nuptial pads are situated on the thumbs and will appear if frogs are mature and in the breeding season. When you get your camera post a photo. That will make it easier for members who do keep Pacman frogs to help you. Sorry im unable to help.

Pauly that hardly made any sense. Are you saying that my frog which hasn't been getting bigger in 3 months is a male? From your logs, did you ever experience this plateau then some gained inches later? Would really like to see some logs of people, I can show you mine but my guy is only 9 months.

I never thought I would say this, but I agree with Pauly. That's about the snout to vent length of a male - these frogs aren't mammoth and a well fed Pacman can reach adult size well within 9 months. Am I missing something?
