    Question Room Humidifiers?

We usually don't have problems with lack of humidity here in Oregon, but we're being hit with a lot of cold dry air again this winter (winter's not even here yet, guh!) and I'm worried, what with also having to turn up the heat, that general humidity in the apartment is going to drop to around 20% like last year... which was horrible on the eyes and mucous membranes! Now THAT was before we had our WTFs, so I'm doubly concerned for them. I also have African violets, so need to keep the humidity up for them too, and just placing out dishes of water in the tanks and on the plant table really didn't suffice. Just wondered if there are any brands of general room humidifiers folks would recommend? Want something that has good water holding capacity, with output control, and has a very fine mist that won't condense on the walls and etc.

I like air-o-Swiss bigger ones the best, have tried so many. It's imposdible here without them.
I have 3 of these Air-O-Swiss® Ultrasonic Digital Warm and Cool Mist Humidifier - BedBathandBeyond.ca

I use the vics cool mist in the room with the red eyes and love that thing. My room is small enough to make that work. I have bigger more expensive ones throughout the rest of the house though.

    Default Room Humidifiers?

Try to stick with an ultrasonic model. There are heat generated humidifiers out there, and they use up a LOT of energy. So much to the point that you can easily over load a standard circuit and pop a breaker.

Wow, that's good to know! I have one circuit in the kitchen that constantly gets thrown just by trying to run the microwave... total pain in the rump!

    Thanks all!
