New Tiny WTF

Aww congrats on your new baby, Elly! You will have to share some pics when you can! As a baby, I'd let him eat as much as he wants. Make sure to keep everything separated, even spray bottles, so that your other guy doesn't infect this one at all. Did you have him shipped to you? If so, he may just be a bit dehydrated and is doing a good job rehydrating himself.

Thanks! The frog was shipped and I put a few drops of pedialyte into the water dish yesterday, but it's been soaking all morning. I'd like to change the water but the frog's in there. It was so funny yesterday because after gobbling down all the crickets the frog just sat there, as if it was too full to climb out again. I haven't settled on a name yet.

I originally had a 1'' tall soaking bowl, but it was too slick to get in and out of easily. You can't tell but there is actually a good amount of water in the saucer.

Hahaha my greys do that too. Chow down and then just end up sitting there in the bowl and going back to sleep. Too much work to lug their full bellies out, I guess. I end up taking them out if there are any crickets left (which rarely happens) so that they don't get bit.

Ugh. I can't leave the heater on at night in the warm room anymore so last night I set up a heatlamp and pad. Then of course bulb burnt out in the middle of the night. It got down to 64F briefly.

I know frogs can tolerate those temperatures, but it really doesn't seem good for a young frog with a stomach full of crickets. I bought a heat emitter to replace the bulb, but ugh. So much stress.

The frog does look fatter though, hopefully it isn't bloat! It's slept all day, as far as I know.

He should be fine, just make sure that he doesn't get too hot and that the humidity levels stay stable

Whew, managed to keep the heat up to at least 74F last night. Also I think he's trying to develop a throat sack and I've named him Julep.
