Heat bulb.

One half of my tank has a glass top but ive heard some frogs need a heat lamp but I picture the glass preventing the heat from coming through. What can I use for that half of the tank for the bulb? I also need it to be able to be cut so I can make the room for my cords

It all depends on the frog, some need heat others don't. The glass being heated will heat up the whole tank.

So I can just sit the light bulb on the glass?

You probably don't want to do that, the viv will probably heat up to fast. And again, it depends on what you are putting in the viv
