So I need some help, I've had my Fire bellies for maybe 3 months now. I have 2 of them male & female. Recently the male has become increasingly aggressive/Frisky and continually mounts the other. Now this normally wouldn't be an issue but the female is contantly trying to get away and seems like she is almost being broken in the process
When she tries to get away, she puff up all at the front like a balloon leaving almost no mass behind her aside from her legs. This leaves me with 2 fears. A) She's going to pop or B) She's going to break her legs while trying to escape. If someone could provide some guidance that would be much appreciated. In the meantime I have them seperated into two tanks, but I don't want to do this for too long because the male refuses to eat and rarely sits in the water in the other tank

My two get like that too and I always worry that Monster will hurt Merce. However I've had them for a few years now and no harm has ever been done, Merce is usually able to get away. I always worry that Monster will drown her, in fact one time I even picked monster up thinking he would release Merce but instead he left her dangling.
It does look like they will pop but don't worry she won't.
When separating the two I did it to ensure I wouldn't end up with tadpoles and I used a tank divider instead of putting them in two separate tanks.
