Yes, they are true roaches. They will not breed unless you set up breeding though, so no worries about them infesting the house.

Superworms really aren't any better than mealies. A little more meat to chitin than mealworms, but same risks and high fat.

I'd do your best to get the night crawlers, I'd be thrilled if my frogs would eat them. I'm stuck feeding crickets though lol.
