Hey guys i have a couple pixies and yesterday i fed them some big grasshoppers i caught, today one of my biggest pixies, who tends to be lighter in color usually, looks pretty pale. He shed his skin but he's still looking on the pale side, he's sitting directly under the heat lamp so i'm wondering if maybe he's just trying to still digest those big grasshoppers or what, i'm hoping they didn't have pesticide on them or anything, i caught them by a river so the long grass hadn't been treated with weed killers or anything. i'm worried, i wont be feeding them wild caught bugs anymore, this was the first and last time. i know wild crickets have gut worms and stuff but i thought these big hoppers would be a nice safe treat. Any thoughts anyone? Also my pixies are about 3 inches long right now and the other two look totally fine but the pale one had 2 or 3 more hoppers than the other 2.
You might want to take him to get checked by a vet. You say he is always pale? How so? You should post some pictures of him.
Hey it was a false alarm. I think what happened was he ate too much and was just working on digestion he looks dark as ever today. And i mean in comparison to the other two i have him with his skin is just lighter here and there by a shade or two. All is well thanks.
Some are lighter than others, but being pale can be stress related.
You could still post some pictures.
